World Refugee Day Celebration Held on Chancellor's court Main Campus

The University of Nairobi community composed of staff and students joined hands with other Kenyans from all walks of life in celebrating World Refugees Day. The theme of the say was ‘Include All, Empower All.’ The key message during the day was that refugees are a big asset to any economy and should be embraced.Prof. Peter Mbithi, the Vice Chancellor, University of Nairobi observed that the World Refugees Day aims at drawing the public attention to the issues affecting the refugees and how to improve their living conditions. He pointed out that the Institute of Development Studies, IDIS, carries out research on refugee’s social political development. The Vice-Chancellor was represented by Prof. Julius Ogen’go, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs.
