UON CoHEM & CRISS PLUS PROJECT

The Director, CRISS plus CoEHM,department of Clinical medicine and Therapeutics, College of Health Sciences were given office space by the University of Nairobi Management for their USA Goverment funded project.The offices are situated at the Junction of Church Road and Mangu Gardens road,westlands.The supervision of alteration and renovation works of the existing office space to bring it to standard is being carried out  by Construction & Maintenance Department and is currently ongoing.

AIR QUALITY MONITORING STATION AT AMERICAN WING ENGINEERING BLOCK

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with the University of Leicester,recieved funding form Newton Utafity Fund, part of the funds was to be used in the establishment of a high quality, continiuos air quality monitoring station that will be the first of its kind in the region.This project will place the University of Nairobi at the center of AQ research in the region and open up numerous opportunity for funding.The department of Construction & Maintenance was involved in the Supervision of Building and Engineering components works of the project.

KAVI PROJECT

KAVI -The Institute of clinical research recieved  funds for the construction of additional floor to enable the institute create space for research equipment and employees.The department played the role of design and supervision of the project.

CD4 LAB CHIROMO CAMPUS

CD4 Lab recently got into  a partnership with Cisco to revamp provided space that will be used to incubate star-ups.Cisco offered to fund the infrastructure,hardware,furniture and access control mechanism to ensure the facility has a state of Art look and feel.The Construction and Maintenance department played the role of project supervision during the entire contract period.

MAHTMA GANDHI GRADUATE RESEARCH LIBRARY

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with High Commission of India recieved a grant for the refurbishment of of former bookstore into a state of art Graduate Library.The development of Graduate Research Library will therefore contribute greately to quality service provision for postgraduate students and academic staff.Construction and Maintenance department was involved in the design and supervision of the project.

CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE PROJECT

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with Confucius Institute Headquarters (HABNAN) a non-govermental and non profit organization recieved a grant to construct,Africa's first Confucius Institute along arboretum drive Nairobi.This facility will in enable students and staff of the University  of Nairobi learn Chinese language,culture and provide teaching resources.The institute will also go in along way to meeting demands of overseas Chinese learners.The project begun on September 2017 and was practically completed on April 2019 with Construction and Maintenance department as the projec

SIGNING OF PERFOMANCE CONTRACTING FOR THE FINACIAL YEAR 2019/2020

185 units in the University of Nairobi have just signed their performance contracts with the ag. Vice-Chancellor for the financial year 2019/2020.These includes 5 Deputy Vice-Chancellors, 8 colleges, 6 deputy college heads, 39 faculties, schools, institutes and centres, 2 satellite campuses, 95 teaching departments and learning centres and 30 central units. World's Aids Day celebration marked by University staff and students

The University of Nairobi community comprising of staff and students marked the World AIDS Day on November 29, 2019 with the theme: Communities make the difference. Speaking during the event, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, University of Nairobi Chancellor, observed that the University of Nairobi has been leading in conducting HIV – AIDs research through the College of Health Sciences. She observed that HIV-AIDs is the most destructive epidemic that has claimed so many lives in the past.
