KAVI -The Institute of clinical research recieved  funds for the construction of additional floor to enable the institute create space for research equipment and employees.The department played the role of design and supervision of the project.


CD4 Lab recently got into  a partnership with Cisco to revamp provided space that will be used to incubate star-ups.Cisco offered to fund the infrastructure,hardware,furniture and access control mechanism to ensure the facility has a state of Art look and feel.The Construction and Maintenance department played the role of project supervision during the entire contract period.


The University of Nairobi in collaboration with High Commission of India recieved a grant for the refurbishment of of former bookstore into a state of art Graduate Library.The development of Graduate Research Library will therefore contribute greately to quality service provision for postgraduate students and academic staff.Construction and Maintenance department was involved in the design and supervision of the project.


The University of Nairobi in collaboration with Confucius Institute Headquarters (HABNAN) a non-govermental and non profit organization recieved a grant to construct,Africa's first Confucius Institute along arboretum drive Nairobi.This facility will in enable students and staff of the University  of Nairobi learn Chinese language,culture and provide teaching resources.The institute will also go in along way to meeting demands of overseas Chinese learners.The project begun on September 2017 and was practically completed on April 2019 with Construction and Maintenance department as the projec


185 units in the University of Nairobi have just signed their performance contracts with the ag. Vice-Chancellor for the financial year 2019/2020.These includes 5 Deputy Vice-Chancellors, 8 colleges, 6 deputy college heads, 39 faculties, schools, institutes and centres, 2 satellite campuses, 95 teaching departments and learning centres and 30 central units. World's Aids Day celebration marked by University staff and students

The University of Nairobi community comprising of staff and students marked the World AIDS Day on November 29, 2019 with the theme: Communities make the difference. Speaking during the event, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, University of Nairobi Chancellor, observed that the University of Nairobi has been leading in conducting HIV – AIDs research through the College of Health Sciences. She observed that HIV-AIDs is the most destructive epidemic that has claimed so many lives in the past.
